Hyderabad: On the night of May 28-29, Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Area Team, Hyderabad raided Club Tequila Cafe and Bar located at Ramgopalpet in Secunderabad. The pub was found to be operating illegally without having obtained any valid permission from the concerned authorities. He had also hired girls to attract customers in addition to violating excise rules.
Eighteen people were arrested, including pub general manager Nalini Reddy, accountant and club manager N. Ravi, DJ operators B. Hari Krishna and Syeda Zareen, cashier B. Prakash, eight girls and five customers. The pub owner, Gyarala Vijay Kumar Goud, a resident of Bowenpally Hyderabad, is on the run.

It was also found that the music was played above the permitted decibels and that disco lights were used in violation of the rules. The club management had also turned the pub into a dance bar. This is the third case recorded against the management of the pub.
Equipment such as amplifiers and sound systems were seized from the pub. The 18 people arrested along with the seized material were handed over to the SHO at Ramgopalpet Police Station.
