With Wonder of the Seas soon to be the largest cruise ship in the world when it debuts in March 2022, Royal Caribbean details the range of restaurants, including the new Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar.
The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant and Bar
Guests will be spoiled with all the dining options on the new Wonder of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s fifth oasis-class cruise ship. There are over 20 venues, and the highlight is the Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar.
The ship will also feature long-time favorite Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar and venues that have already recently been added to other ships in the fleet, including Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade and Hooked Seafood.
The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar is a specialty restaurant being introduced on the new Royal Caribbean cruise ship. The space offers a rustic decor with a bar located in the middle, as well as a porch that has a swing, providing a great photo opportunity. The place wouldn’t be complete without some country music either!
The menu at the first southern bar and restaurant in the fleet is something the whole family will remember. Guests can enjoy southern dishes for brunch, dinner, and late-night snacks, starting with baked buttermilk cookies and jalapeno cornbread.

Brunch options range from savory johnnycakes topped with barbecued pulled pork to Sweet-Tooth Cinnamon Roll. Customers can get stuck into fried green tomatoes, authentic southern fried chicken, crab cakes served with chunk crab dip, and shrimp and grits for dinner. There are traditional spiked float pies and shakes for those with a sweet tooth.
There’s a collection of over a dozen American whiskeys, plus options like mint julep and Mississippi Moonlight when it comes to the bar. You can even hang out at the bar during dinner and enjoy the evening music.
More meals on Wonder of the Seas
On the other side wonder of the seas eight iconic neighborhoods, there are many different restaurants, bars and lounges, including long-time favorites and venues that have recently been added on other Royal Caribbean cruise ships.
Other highlights include:
- View – The happiest of happy hours is in this new cantilevered bar. The Vue offers panoramic ocean views by day, and after sunset it shines with a colorful mosaic canopy overhead.
- Giovanni’s Italian cuisine and wine bar – It’s a family affair every day at Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, the first on an Oasis-class ship. On the menu, freshly prepared authentic staples, from handmade pizzas to charcuterie boards and veal meatballs, to an extensive wine list, wine flights and cocktails, such as an Aperol Spritz and a Negroni.
- playmakers Sports bar and arcade – This popular venue brings guests of all ages together to watch the big game on dozens of big-screen TVs, face off in friendly competition in the arcade, and munch on bar fare and ice-cold draft beers.
- Fresh Loco and Cantina Fresca – The take-out place for Mexican delights, like made-to-order tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, is now launching a dedicated bar called Cantina Fresca that serves a selection of “aguas frescas,” margaritas, and other Mexican staples .
- Lime and Coconut – This signature pool deck experience is central to the Caribbean vibe, with multiple poolside bars and live music.
- Customers can also enjoy Wonderland, Asian-inspired flavors at Izumi, American steakhouse Grill of chops, seasonal American dishes at 150 Central Park, Johnny Rockets, Starbucks, Sugar Beach, and more.
Guests won’t have to wait too long before they can enjoy all that Wonder of the Seas has to offer. The Oasis-class vessel will debut in March 2022 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In April 2022, the ship will reposition to begin cruises from Barcelona, Spain and Rome, Italy until October 2022. wonder of the seas will start sailing from Port Canaveral all year in November 2022.
Florida ports of call include Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day on the private island of CocoCay in the Bahamas, Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Cozumel, Mexico. When the ship is based in Europe, cruises will visit popular destinations such as Naples and Florence, Italy; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Provence, France.
wonder of the seas will take control of the sister ship Symphony of the Seas as the largest cruise ship in the world with 236,857 passengers and a capacity of 5,734 passengers in double occupancy.
