Tacos de Torchy arrives at Rockwall. The Austin-based taco chain, known for its creative approach to street tacos, queso green chili, and tasty margaritas, has signed a lease to bring a Torchy’s to 2235 South Goliad St. It is slated to open in spring 2022 and will be the 20th Torchy’s in Dallas-Fort Worth, which includes the opening of a Torchy’s in Frisco.

Pear coffee, a small, family-run cafe concept, is opening a new location in downtown Elmwood, Oak Cliff, at 2015 S. Edgefield Ave. Owner Elijah Salazar has a noble goal: to bring great coffee to his neighborhood. It opened its first location at 2446 W. Kiest Blvd. in 2019.

Go Fish Poke closed its Plano location at 8245 Preston Rd. It had been open since 2018. The original location of the Preston Center in Dallas at 6030 Luther Ln., which owner Tony Lin opened in 2017, is still open.

Bulla Gastrobar, the upscale Spanish-style restaurant located in Legacy West, offers a new fall menu, with dishes including chicken with Valencian rice and artichoke confit; oxtail with steamed rice, baby potatoes and shishito peppers; shrimp sautéed in a curry cream with a grilled baguette; butternut squash cream with cheese crostini; a veggie dish with eggplant, zucchini, squash, tomato, shallots, asparagus, romesco sauce; and custard made from condensed milk, cinnamon and Maria cookies.

See the candies opens temporary pop-up stores in the city from November 9 to December 31. There will be instants in The Shops at Highland Village, Watters Creek in Allen and Southlake Town Square.

Harper’s at Epic Dallas in Deep Ellum kicks off Saturday-Sunday Weekend Brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., starting October 30. Dishes include Whole Lobster Benedict, Japanese pancakes with blueberry compote, steak and eggs with a 6-ounce fillet and panko-crusted poached egg, brioche French toast, smoked salmon with toasted mini bagels, Parmesan fries and grilled avocado.

Eddie v The steakhouse offers new bites of South African lobster tempura topped with spicy aioli, available only during happy hour.

Pies by the fireside features new dishes created by Chef Stephen Pyles including Smoked Salmon Flatbread, Garlic Bites with Gravy, Turkish Pizza with Sumac Seasoned Lamb, Beef Stroganoff Short, Salmon on cedar plank and Saltimbocca chicken.

Panda Express has a vegetal twist on its most iconic dish, the Original Orange Chicken, but made with Beyond Chicken pieces. Co-developed with Beyond Meat, this main dish captures the texture and tangy citrus flavor of The Original Orange Chicken, with the nutritional benefits of plant-based protein. Panda Express initially offered it as part of a trial in New York and Los Angeles, and it’s now available at 70 locations in the US, including DFW. The listing includes Allen, Coit Road to Plano, Addison to Belt Line and Montfort, Garland and Sunnyvale.

Restaurant and bar for lazy dogs, known for its innovative twists on American dishes, has two new dishes, available until February 15: TV Roast Turkey Dinner, with Turkey Breast, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Celery Onion Stuffing, and Cake with pumpkin cheese and salted caramel and graham cracker crumble. Jolene’s, the virtual concept of Lazy Dog, features Korean dry chicken wings, macaroni with bacon and cheese, a pickled cucumber salad and loaded potato huspuppies.

Thirsty Lion Gastropub in Irving and Euless launched a fall menu featuring steamed shrimp, arugula and beet salad with grilled herb chicken, a bacon jam burger, black cherry barbecue pork tenderloin, and Bing Whiskey Cherry Bread Pudding. New seasonal cocktails include Tito’s Templeton Maple Old Fashioned and Winter White Cosmopolitan.

Vitality Bowls, the super cafe specializing in delicious acai bowls, has brought back fan favorite pumpkin bowl, consisting of acai, pumpkin, strawberries, banana, cinnamon and almond milk topped with granola, banana, strawberries, pumpkin seeds, honey and nutmeg. It is available until November.

Chili’s added four new burgers whose selling point seems to be their gargantuan size. There’s a Big Bacon BBQ with two beef patties, six slices of bacon, barbecue sauce, cheddar, red onion, and pickles; a Bacon Rancher, the same but with ranch and American cheese; a BBQ Brisket Burger with brisket, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, pickles and coleslaw; and a Secret Sauce Burger with secret duh sauce. Also a big mouth crispy chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato and secret sauce. Does anyone really need six slices of bacon on a burger?

Uncle Julio’s celebrates its 35th anniversary by releasing the Chocolate Piñata, a chocolate globe made from scratch filled with mini churros, pineapples and strawberries, on its standing menu. Guests can open the chocolate delicacy with a wooden mallet and dip the contents into chocolate ganache and whipped cream. The Chocolate Piñata costs $ 30 and serves 4 to 8 people.

Loco El Pollo is offering two personal size loaves of her festive Pan de Muerto bread with every Familia dinner purchase on Monday, November 1. The sweet Mexican bread is flavored with orange blossom and anise and goes well with the fire-grilled chicken of the El Pollo Loco signature.

To give up, Sylvan Thirty’s cocktail bar, is offering specialty cocktails from November 1-5 featuring Iichiko Shochu, the top-rated shochu brand in Japan. Kessaku, the sushi and sake lounge on the 50th floor of the National Building, offers a new fall cocktail menu that includes Tokyo Tango with a jalapeño pepper; 50 Shades Darker with Haku Vodka, Sakura’s 75 with Roku gin, lemon and sparkling sake; and Kessaku Carajillo, a cold alcoholic beer.

Messina Hof vineyard, with an urban wine tasting room at Historic Grapevine, won three awards at the 38th Lone Star International Wine Competition held October 6-7 in Grapevine. Messina Hof has won two awards for her private reserve Gewurztraminer, 2019: Best in Texas White and the Grand Star; and a Bronze label for Blushing Angel, new vintage.
