Sonoran style delights are coming hot
500 N. Fourth Ave. has seen quite a few changes over the past few years, and with each change comes a totally different concept.
Imagine having a mighty whiff of delicious quesabirria as you cruise around the avenue, or perhaps being greeted by the heavenly aromatics of Sonoran tacos while trying to parallel park your vehicle. This is what looms on the horizon at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Sixth Street.

The local food truck La Yaquesita Tacos opens a new location in the space that most recently housed L Station Cafe & Bar.
One of the new features of the Fourth Avenue location is that it will be open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So expect to find plenty of familiar dishes like cabeza tacos, as well as a few items unique to the place.
I’m working on Mexican pasta – maybe chipotle chicken pasta,” said chief Miguel Rodriguez, owner of La Yaquesita. “Also, maybe a few soups a day and a few gourmet dishes in the evening.”
Inside the restaurant there will be around four tables for dinner and a bar with additional seating, then outside on the patio you can expect to find an additional 15-20 tables.
Hours of operation are still ongoing, but Rodriguez is thinking 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday.
The original location at 6530 S. Camino de Oeste near Valencia remains intact as the new Fourth Avenue restaurant plans to open by the end of May 2022.
La Yaquesita Tacos’ new location will be at 500 N. Fourth Ave. near Opas! Grills and Lindy’s. For more information and any updates on the official opening date, follow La Yaquesita Tacos on Facebook.
