RIGBY – Massive milkshakes, homemade ice cream, fruit smoothies, Mexican snacks, nachos and more. If you’re looking for tasty treats, you’ll find them at Teton Ice Cream Parlor in Rigby.
Victor Gallegos and his family opened the salon a year ago at 135 North Clark Street. They wanted to offer something on top of the traditional ice cream flavors, so they happily serve some of their favorite Mexican snacks, like crazy potato chips. The potatoes are fried and covered with corn, mayonnaise, butter and nacho cheese.
Teton Ice Cream Parlor offers 36 ice cream flavors and over 40 frozen gelato options. There is a fruit bar and many regulars order fruit mixed with cream made into a drink. If you like sweet and tangy, a mangonada will please you. It contains mango, mango ice cream, chili powder, salt, sugar and a little citrus juice.
The most popular item at the show is the first milkshakes which are HUGE. Customers choose their flavor, mixed in a mason jar, then a large piece of cheesecake, brownie, cookie or other treat is placed on top. New options are offered every month.
In May, you can order “simply the best” with your choice of ice cream topped with a yellow marshmallow drizzle, lemon iced drink, white chocolate chips, lemon cake, whipped cream , vermicelli and a drizzle of marshmallow.
“You’re killing me little ones” is another concoction you can buy this month. It includes your choice of ice cream, a drizzle of red marshmallow, a frozen vanilla drink, sprinkles, crackers, whipped cream, a pretzel, a baseball cake and a drizzle of red marshmallow.
Teton Ice Cream Parlor is open Sunday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Learn more about Facebook and Instagram.
