Macabre Dracula’s Cabaret-themed restaurants have been Melbourne and Gold Coast icons for decades, but now the show is hitting the road. Wollongong audiences will be transported to a raucous world of comedy, burlesque, circus and Rocky Horror-style rock ‘n’ roll at the Illawarra Performing Arts Center from April 29-30. They also bring their signature cocktails to the bar, like their famous “blood blags” where customers sip their drink from a real intravenous bag like you see in hospitals (or on television). Dracula’s Macabre Cabaret Themed restaurants have been icons of Melbourne and the Gold Coast for decades, but now the show is hitting the road.
Wollongong audiences will be transported to a noisy atmosphere rocky horrorfrom the world of comedy, burlesque, circus and rock’n’roll at the Illawarra Performing Arts Center from April 29-30.

The show is tailored for an adult audience and is inspired by the best entertainment sketches – “fan favorites” – from the theater’s restaurants over the years.
His grandparents Tika and John Newman opened Melbourne’s first ever dinner theater in 1964, the late-night cafe Tika & John, which became a music hall.
From their Newman empire grew to more performance ventures with the creation of Dracula in the 1980s – their Gold Coast venue remaining their flagship cabaret club.

“We’ve had over seven million customers who have passed through our doors in over 40 years, from all over Australia and around the world, so we thought it would be nice…to bring Dracula to people,” said Luke Newman.
“A lot of times when I talk to someone about the brand, there’s such a happy memory associated with them like a birthday or anniversary, some kind of milestone, which is why we’re excited to take them on the road.”
The show is tailored for an adult audience and is inspired by the best entertainment sketches – “fan favorites” – from the theater’s restaurants over the years.
Already, the Wollongong shows have sold out half of the allocated tickets having only been on sale for a short time.
