UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A new Mexican restaurant inspired by street food and art opens Monday on the Upper West Side.
Street Taco will welcome customers for the first time at 4 p.m. at 2672 Broadway (corner of West 102nd Street).
“Hola, Upper West Side! We’re thrilled to announce that our new location is ready to rock,” Street Taco wrote in a recent Instagram post.
The UWS location follows the success of the original Gramercy outpost, led by Executive Chef Jonathan Ruiz.
The menu offers 15 types of tacos as well as small plates such as nachos, street corn pops, and Yuca fries.
The restaurant is inspired by Mexican artistic culture and focuses on creating an “elegant and entertaining dining and bar space,” according to a press release.
“Our menu fuses Mexican culinary traditions with contemporary dishes, paired with an extensive collection of classic and modern cocktails crafted from house-made ingredients,” reads an “About” section on the restaurant’s website. “Curated street art enlivens the room, bringing an alluring, edgy vibe – design truly for people.”
A big part of the new restaurant will be its cocktail offerings.
Street Taco offers an extensive beverage menu that includes the following:
- Poco Loco with Ghost Pepper-Infused Tequila, Pineapple, Lime, and Bird’s-Eye Chili
- Old-fashioned Elote with El Tesoro Single Barrel Reposado, Nixta Corn Liqueur and Bourbon Bitters
- When in Cancun with Tequila Blanco, Passion Fruit, Lime, Pineapple and Canela
- Blood Orange Jalapeño Margarita with Milagro Silver Tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice and organic agave
