Canteen Los Charros at Centerbrook offers a special fixed-price four-course menu on Cinco de Mayo, starting with fries, guacamole and salsa; “aguachile” ahi tuna, queso fundido and blistered shishitos served as a family; curtido shrimp tacos, birria enchiladas, Mexican street corn, and desserts like churro fritters, key lime pies, and chocolate tres leches. Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill will celebrate May 5 at its two Fairfield and New Haven Locations.
Fairfield will host an outdoor pig roast, as well as a live mariachi band from 4-7 p.m. DJ Gruv comes in from 8 p.m. until closing, with special cocktails. New Haven hosts a tour of Cuco the Donkey from 4-6pm and a live mariachi band from 4:30-6:30pm, followed by DJ Christie at 8pm. The menu features barbacoa tacos and specialty cocktails.

Courtesy of MargaritasMax Catering & Events presents a Cinco de Mayo dinner to Crystal Ridge Winery in South Glastonbury, with Mexican street corn salad, tortilla soup, seafood ceviche, grilled oysters, chicken enchiladas, pozole rojo and a taco bar with protein and assorted toppings. The cost is $79 per person; Crystal Ridge wines, margaritas and Dos Equis beer will be available for purchase.
Margaritas, with locations in East Hartford and mystical, begins its celebrations on May 1, with the chance to win a free dinner for a year. Other festivities include the launch of new summer drinks on May 3 and a “sizzle and shake” promotion on May 4, featuring a $25 deal on fajitas with any Original or Classic flavored margarita.
