1 dead, 2 injured in shooting in the old town of Temecula


TEMECULA, Calif .– A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation continued Monday morning after three people were shot, including one fatal, outside a restaurant and bar in Old Town Temecula.

The shooting was reported at 10:42 p.m. Sunday at 28680 Old Town Front Street, near the Bank of Mexican Food, according to Sgt. Brandi Swan.

“Three victims have been located,” the sergeant said Monday morning. “One died at the scene and two others were taken to area hospitals and were still in treatment.”

All three victims were adults, according to Swan, but their identities were not disclosed.

Old Town Front Street was blocked in both directions near the crime scene and the street is not expected to reopen for a few more hours, Swan reported just after 9:30 a.m. Monday. The public were told to avoid the area as detectives were still processing the scene.

The sergeant said a suspect was still wanted but there was no danger to the public. She said the detectives had good leads in the case.

No reason for the shooting was provided.
