Bubbalou’s Bodacious Bar-B-Que Apopka location has been sold.

According to a statement from the broker representing the seller, the property was sold for just over $1.5 million. The long-running barbecue restaurant was purchased by investment firm V3 Capital.

The company plans to lease the space to a Mexican restaurant called El Cielito Lindo. This restaurant is owned by the same group that operates the local chain Habaneros Mexican Grill.

Bubbalou’s has fallen on hard times since the coronavirus pandemic began, closing its original Winter Park location last year and their Apopka location in January.

The Winter Park location specifically cited staffing issues in a public statement about the closure. When Apopka’s location closed, the restaurant chain blamed a lack of revenue.
