Areas unveils Tequila Bar by 1800 at Los Cabos International Airport

MEXICO. Travel catering and retail operator Areas has opened the Tequila by 1800 bar at Los Cabos International Airport in Mexico. In a 160 m² airside area, it has 32 seats in its bar area and tables that can accommodate 41 additional guests.

The bar offers Tequila 1800 brand drinks including 1800 Cristalino Anejo, mezcal cocktails, gins and whiskeys. A full menu is also available with a wide variety of Mexican snacks and light meals, including esquites, tuna ceviche, guacamole, chili con carne, and chipotle chicken baguette.

Areas is the first F&B operator at the airport’s international terminal, where it currently has a seven-year contract to manage the entire fast food area. Brands such as Carls Jr, Subway, Sbarro and Panda Express feature in this section and Areas also operates a gourmet restaurant, STK Steakhouse.

Areas revealed to the Moodie Davitt Report that two more new concepts will be introduced at Los Cabos International next year. Pacific Grill by Boa Steakhouse is being developed in partnership with the American group Innovative Dining Group and the company will also open Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in 2022, the first for this brand at a Mexican airport.

Areas has a long-standing relationship with Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, which operates nine Mexican airports. At these airports, the company operates 32 catering concepts and 27 retail stores, mainly convenience concepts under the brands The Market, Divers and Aeromarket.
